Used Ford C-Max 2017 Diesel for Sale

The Ford C-Max is one of Ford’s mid-sized MPVs. We say “one of” because this machine is also available as the Grand C-Max, which we’ve covered on another page. This five seat machine is built on the Ford Focus platform and it’s proving itself to be an enjoyable drive. This vehicle first showed up in Europe in 2003 and it is their second smallest MPV. One thing that we’ve noticed about Ford is that they love the MPV segment and at the moment they offer the B-Max, the C-Max, the S-max, and the Galaxy. They fill this role well so we’ll leave them at it.

For the last few years Ford has been releasing a variety of EcoBoost engines to the world and they are proving to be very good. These petrol engines have a focus on fuel economy but they are generally small and perform like they should be bigger. Of course the diesel line is slightly more efficient but purchasers should make sure that a diesel is what they need before they consider going down this route. If you’re annual mileage is low and if your new car is going to be mainly driven to the shops or around cities then consider petrol before you go to diesel. Diesels should be kept for people who do high mileage only. The 1.0 litre EcoBoost engine will bring you from 0-100 km/h in 12.6 seconds and it offers 98 bhp. The titanium model has an altered version of this engine and it offers 123 bhp. Also available is a 1.5 litre and a 2.0 litre diesel engine.

The C-Max gets much of its ride and handling capabilities directly from the Focus. Even though this is bulkier than the Focus it is actually very capable on the road. It handles twists and turns exceptionally well and body roll doesn’t feature much. The only time that this vehicle falters is going over bumps because the suspension is quite firm. Torque vectoring is a feature in the C-Max. This gives power to the wheels that need it most during a journey to ensure maximum grip. Like the Focus, the C-max’s steering is direct and precise.

Both diesel and petrol options are relatively refined. The 1.5 TDCi engine is surprisingly quiet – it’s a good performer too. The car is very well insulated from road and wind noise.

Ford updated the C-Max recently and on account of this they kitted the interior out with the same materials they used in the latest Ford Focus. Therefore, the infotainment is a much-easier to handle affair. The system is easy to use and fresh in comparison to what was there before. The update also meant that the C-Max received a nicer feel to the interior plastics.

Apart from airbags, you will find that the C-Max has many safety features available. Parking sensors are available with most trims and if you can also opt for “Park Assist” which will parallel park for you.

The new Ford C-Max is built on the Ford Focus platform which of course is a good thing. In the past we would’ve given out about small things like boot space, the C-Max doesn’t suffer from that issue. This mid-sized MPV is practical in terms of space. Leg room and head room don’t throw up any major issues and kids will certainly feel comfortable sitting in here.
