Formula E welcomes Allianz as official partner

Allianz joins the Formula E family for the FIA Formula E Championships. Partnership also includes visibility at "Roborace".

The world's first fully electric single-seater racing series has welcomed their newest partner, Allianz, to the Formula E family. As part of the partnership, the Allianz brand will be visible during the world's first driverless electric race series which will take place on Formula E city street circuits. This is what Formula E calls "Roborace".

Apart from "Roborace" being a cool name, it is also a very cool idea. This is effectively a race for driverless cars. Not only is it a new type of race, but it also shows how far autonomous driving has come in recent years. The race involves ten teams, which each have two driverless cars that compete in one-hour races throughout the season. According to Wikipedia, "all teams will have equal cars, but will have to develop their own real-time computing algorithms and artificial intelligence technologies."

Allianz will also have their logo featured on a Formula E show car. The FIA Formula E Championship races take place in 10 cities over 5 continents and include races in; Hong Kong, Marrakesh, Buenos Aires, Monaco, Paris, New York and Montreal.
