5: Bentley Continental Flying Spur: 625 hp
Bentley’s flagship performance vehicle certainly lives up to its name. This saloon flies up to a top speed 322km/h. 0-100km/h is reached in 4.8 seconds. Options include adaptive cruise control, front-seat lumbar massage, a full-length centre console (that reduces seating capacity to four) and a 15-speaker Naim audio system.
4: Mercedes S65 AMG: 630 hp
This AMG from Mercedes can reach 0-100km/h in an impressive 4.2 seconds. Its AMG 6-liter V12 biturbo engine delivers the impressive output of 630 hp. The S65 utilises Mercedes “magic body control” system which uses sensors to read the road for imperfections and adjusts the suspension accordingly.
3: Cadillac CTS-V: 649 hp
In Europe the V will get pyrotechnic actuators at the base of the windshield that raises the back of the hood in the event of a pedestrian impact. It also has an impressive power-to-weight ratio of 6.5 pounds per horsepower. According to Cadillac's figures, that puts the V way, way ahead of the BMW M5 (7.8 pounds per horsepower) and the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG (8.0 pounds per horsepower).
2: Tesla Model S: 691 hp
This all-electric luxury saloon has a top speed of 210 km/h. In ‘Ludicrous’ mode, the Tesla promises to go from 0-100km/h in an indeed ludicrous time of 2.8 seconds. The Model S is fitted with an “Autopilot Mode” which allows the driver to release the pedals and steering wheel which is designed to lesson driver fatigue during long trips. As well as the largest display interface of any production car.
1: Dodge Charger Hellcat: 707 hp
Dodge claims the Challenger Hellcat is "America's most powerful muscle car ever." The Hellcat has a twin-screw supercharged, 6.2-liter Hemi V-8 engine which can achieve 0-100km/h in 3.5 seconds. Dodge has also demonstrated the Hellcat reaching top speeds of 328km/h, making this the fastest saloon ever.
