Want to buy a car by Bitcoin? Now you can

Bitcoin may well be the currency of the future, but would you buy a car using it?

Have you a few Bitcoin burning a hole in your pocket? Why not treat yourself to this Gold Rolls Royce Ghost for just under £120,000?

The 35,000 mile 2010 Rolls Royce Ghost, which is based in Oldham, near Manchester, is being sold by a private seller on the UK’s car selling website - Auto Trader. The car is powered by a 6.6 V12 and when released was described as being a Rolls Royce to be driven, not driven in.

Despite this, the car is kitted out with a ton of extras including a rear fridge, free-view TV, massage seats up front and lambs wool floor mats, no less. If this isn’t enough, the private seller will throw in 22-inch diamond cut alloys and a private number plate (not that it’ll be much use here in Ireland), reading GO07DEN, for an extra £8,000 each. The price to pay for all of this Golden, em, glory (I use that term loosely)? A mere £117,995 or €133,700 excluding VRT to Ireland.

The private seller of the Roller said “Why not trade in Bitcoin? I treat it in exactly the same way as normal currency these days. It’s safe, convenient and incredibly valuable right now so, to me, it makes sense to trade my car this way. It’s the future”.

Maybe it mightn’t be a bad idea putting a “Buy by Bitcoin” option on
