If some of your car’s electrical components, such as the headlights or electric windows are not working; the first thing you should check is the fuse box. After locating the fuse box under the bonnet of the car, lift up the cover and on the inside you will find a chart mapping out what each fuse is for. You should also find an extractor tool needed for safely removing the fuse you wish to inspect.
To visually check if a fuse is blown or not, look at the element in the fuse. If it is blown the element will be darkened and there will more than likely be a break in the connection. Should this be the source of the problem, simply purchase a new fuse and slot it into the correct port. Replacing a blown fuse is one of the simplest and cheapest car repairs you can do yourself.
