This is Car Buyers Guide's first impressions review of the 2017 all-new Audi Q5. When we say "first impressions", we mean it. Daragh Ó Tuama gets 20 minutes with the all-new Audi Q5 at the Audi Ireland launch in Airfield House, Dundrum, Dublin.
While there are no drastic exterior design changes, there are some more defined lines. The new Q5 takes some design cues from the Q7. The single frame grille adds a sportier look and those defined lines do succeed in making the SUV look more aggressive than the outgoing Audi Q5 - the extra chrome details around the car also helps to make the vehicle look angrier.
Major changes are on show in the new Virtual Cockpit of the Audi Q5. The car now benefits from the latest Audi MMI infotainment systems, and like in the Audi A3, Q2, TT, and new A5, the Q5 benefits from an excellent TFT display in the driver's display console. The car is integrated with Google maps, and is online thanks to the work of Ireland-based technology company, Cubic Telecoms. Cubic Telecoms supply the Wi-Fi technologies to Audi globally. As outlined in this review, these technologies are available with these cars, but it appears that they won't be free with the car forever.
This car is currently on sale in Ireland and prices start from €47,500.
