The Renault Scenic is a five seater MPV. This current and fourth generation of the Renault Scenic comes with 20-inch alloys as standard. It offers plenty of practical space has relatively low running costs.
The Renault Grand Scenic engines choices range from a 1.2-litre petrol engine with two power outputs, to 1.5 and 1.6 litre diesel engines which produce either 128 or 158bhp. The 1.6 litre diesel can reach 100km/h from a standing start in 10.7 seconds and hit a top speed of 200km/h. There is also a “hybrid assist” engine available.
The Renault Scenic comes on 20-inch alloys as standard. You might fear that these large wheels would affect the smoothness of the ride, but this isn’t the case. The suspension has been optimised is suit the larger wheels. There is little body lean during normal cornering as well.
The Renault Scenic produces very little wind and road noise during normal driving. The entry level trims come with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system while the two higher trims come with an 8.7-inch touchscreen.
Most of the material used in the interior cabin are high quality, with only some portions of the dash and centre console feeling a little flimsy.
The new Renault Scenic received a five-star rating from the independent safety testing organisation Euro NCAP, scoring 90% for adult occupant protection, 82% for child protection and 67% for pedestrian protection.
The Renault Scenic has a boot size of 572 litres which can be extended to 720 litres with the rear seats folded down. Legroom in the back seats may be a little tight for taller adults but is by no means cramped. There are also four under-floor compartments that add up to an extra 63 litres of storage.
